Official Launch Event

Australia Day 2019 BBQ
History was made on Australia Day, 26 January 2019, with the official launch party of AustCham Macau. We celebrated with a BBQ on the patio of Terrazza restaurant at Galaxy Macau. It was a fantastic afternoon and evening with a tremendous turn out of around 150 people. Great Australian produce, beer and wine was enjoyed, the kids had fun and there were a number of great prizes given away.
Both the Macau and the Australian governments were well represented, with the official dignitaries being:
  • Ms Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO)
  • Mr Anton Ip, Director of the Macao Economic Bureau (DSE)
  • Ms Irene Va Kuan Lau, Acting President of the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM)
  • Mr Ken Gordon, Acting Consul-General of the Australian Consulate-General Hong Kong (accredited to Macau)
  • Mr Sam Guthrie, Deputy Consul-General (Commercial) of the Australian Consulate-General Hong Kong (accredited to Macau) and Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner of the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade)
