Member Spotlight: Herris Kocibelli

Herris (with an ‘e’), Albanian born, Australian raised and over 12 years in Macau has had a rather colourful life.

Began learning the violin at the age of 4 with his father Vladimir, a professional violinist with the Albanian State Orchestra at the time.

He finished his studies as a professional violinist in Albania before migrating along with his family to Australia (Melbourne) in 1996.

He spent the first few years learning English while performing in various small orchestras in Melbourne as well as a guitar performer in his father’s band along with two other professionals performing in many community festivals as well as government functions all over Australia.

At the same time he started his Computer Science studies which led to landing the first full time job as a computer business analyst/developer.

Herris has worked for various companies in industries such as Work scheduling/rostering for airlines and hotels, transport and logistics and lastly gaming.

While working for Crown Melbourne and being part of the team developing Crown’s own Casino Management systems he moved to Macau to implement the IT and gaming systems initially at Crown Macau (now Altira). Over the years Herris became instrumental on all the Melco-Resorts properties openings in Macau and Manila as well as lead major IT projects over the years while at Melco-Resorts.

An intrapreneur and gaming systems professional with over 20 years experience but with an entrepreneurial spirit, he setup a B2B food import and distribution business that has successfully been growing over the last 8 years.

Being an IT systems guy, in 2017 he co-founded, with his brother, and developed a B2C e-commerce online platform (Goodees Market) for ordering (via website and mobile apps) of premium imported quality food products that are delivered to customer’s homes directly.

Goodees Market was rather ahead of its time for the Macau market when launched but it has grown well over the last 3 years and even more so in 2020 as more people are finally taking up the option of ordering food products online.

Herris is looking forward to seeing what challenges and opportunities 2021 will bring.
